Naval Group-Thales: Toward Sovereign Naval AI

Naval Group and Thales have formalized a strategic partnership around cortAIx France, Thales''s artificial intelligence accelerator, with Naval Group taking 20% of the capital and a role within its governance to develop a sovereign naval AI dedicated to critical defense systems.

This rapprochement provides for the opening of a joint center in Ollioules to industrialize cybersecure AI solutions, while maintaining human intervention in decision-making processes and the protection of sensitive data. This alliance aims to strengthen the operational superiority of the armed forces in areas such as collaborative combat, decision support, or electronic warfare.

In terms of economic intelligence, this cooperation illustrates a strategic pooling of key skills in order to master critical technologies and maintain a competitive and sovereign advantage for France, in a highly competitive and geopolitical sector.
