Naval Group at the Heart of Greek Rearmament
Greece bolsters its naval defense with Naval Group. Paris prevails over Washington for the delivery of frigates and submarines.

The military rapprochement between Paris and Athens places French giant Naval Group at the heart of a strategic turning point in the Mediterranean. Following the failure of the American Constellation program, Greece is consolidating its French choice: the delivery of the FDI Kimon frigate could be followed by three additional units, creating a homogeneous fleet entirely structured around Naval Group technology.
The industrial group is not only selling ships: it offers technology transfers and partial production in Greece, anchoring itself sustainably in the local industrial ecosystem. In addition, Naval Group appears as the favorite to equip Athens with conventionally-powered Barracuda-class submarines.
Beyond the contracts, this dynamic strengthens the Franco-Greek strategic axis and illustrates the rise of Naval Group as a pillar of European naval sovereignty.
